Ingredients
1 pound of diced flat iron steak
1 small onion
1 1/3 tsp of mixed middle eastern spices
(Mix of all spice, coriander, black pepper, cinnamon, cumin)
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp of cumin
Spinkle of suma2
2 16 oz cans of rinsed chick peas
1-2 lemons
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
1/4 cup of tahini
1/4 cup of olive oil
3-4 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup of water
1 piece of naan bread (not the mini kind)
Oil for frying
Garnishes
Cilantro
Pomegranate
Slivered almonds
Drizzle of olive oil
Directions
Saute meat with spices in a heated skilled with a little oil, then add the small chopped onion, cook for a few minutes and turn off.
In a blender add the chick peas, tahini, cumin, lemon, oliveoil, garlic ,salt, yogurt and blend. Add 1/4 cup of water to thin the hummus.
Chop the naan into small cubes and fry till golden.
Then layer in a plate, the bread (sprinkle suma2 on top of the bread), hummus, meat, then add the garnishes and enjoy with a hot cup of tea!
